Story
Tree of Hope, Kings Canyon, NT
We arrived at the bottom of Kings Canyon at around 5.30am. It was still dark. The air was cool, a relief from the hot weather the day before. We set off to climb the steep side of the cliff. I think I would’ve counted 1000 steps to the top, give or take 100. There were a lot of steps. The sun was making its way up and over the Canyon. At the top, I came across this beautiful Ghost Gum. Its branches stretched out as though a human stretching their arms out upon awakening to a new day. The leaves gently swaying in the cool breeze. Its roots securely embedded in the rock atop the Kings Canyon.
