STORY:
Black Hill Pool, Pilbara WA
Of all the place we visited, Black Hill Pool was a history lesson rich in Aboriginal rock art dating back thousands of years. To the untrained eye, the art would be difficult to locate. But to our tour guide Clinton, with his knowledge and relationship of the area, not only did he point them out to us, but also was able to explain what the art represented. Amazing. I was blown away to hear that the rock art was thousands of years old. The place is so sacred. Clinton chanted a welcome call to the spirits of the area so we may be welcomed into the area and that the spirits would keep us safe. I felt honoured.
